                     ISSUE #129
             WEEK OF DECEMBER 31, 2000

                   <HI EVERYONE!>
It's me, Nothlit, again.  While this issue is for the week of Dec. 31, I'm
actually writing this on January 1, 2001!  I hope you're all having a good first
day to the third millennium.

The last couple of weeks have been rather slow news-wise due to the holidays and
all, but I think you'll still enjoy this week's issue.  So read on...

&&&&&&&&&
AWN FORUM
&&&&&&&&&
Last week's forum question was: how does the end of Animorphs and Everworld
affect your life?

THERE WERE NO FORUM RESPONSES!  YOU GUYS, COME ON!  Now, I can understand that
you may have been busy with Christmas and New Year stuff, but that's no excuse!
:)  I want to see at least half a dozen responses to this week's question...

This week's forum question is:  What are your predictions for science and
medicine for the next 100 years?

Please send in your forum responses to aw_newsletter@hotmail.com with "forum" as
the subject! You can also respond online at the AWN website,
http://awn.ani-news.com !

AWN POLL

Last week's poll question was:  do you often visit the Official Animorphs Site?

-- rarely	100%
-- often	0%
-- constantly	0%

This week's poll question is:  Will medicine advance so much that we will live
to see the year 2101?

EDITORIAL
!!!!!!!!!!!
An AWN reader wrote in with the following comments regarding the end of the
series.  I think he suggests some great ideas!

"I am (at least I was) an avid Animorphs reading fan. As of late, since about
book 38, I haven't been reading or buying any more.  I don't know why; it's like
I just lost interest.  I know the books are still very good but I haven't read
them.  Perhaps when the series ends prices will fall and I'll find some good
deals to get them... Well that all isn't really the point of me writing this
letter.  The real point is about where people are talking about The End of the
Animorphs (and all related things) as a whole. Yes, the book series will end.
But does that mean the newsletter should end?  Does that mean all the websites
should shut down? No, for a few very simple reasons. If a family member dies, do
you die too?  No, you are your own self.  Even without any new books coming out
there is probably plenty of Animorphs news.  This is a good opportunity to
scrape over the other books. Check out www.starmen.net .  It's a website about
an old SNES game called Earthbound; I don't know if you've ever played it.  They
update about 2-3 times EVERY DAY and the game is from 1994 or something like
that.  There was going to be a Nintendo 64 version; that helped them keep going
a bit (which parallels to K.A. writing a new series if she does) and even when
the 64 version got cancelled; they kept going on. Even stronger this time,
actually. Also this is a great time to promote fan things.  Fan Fiction would be
an especially good section to promote; perhaps you could find a good fan fic
author and encourage him/her to write a series about "What if the Animorphs
hadn't ended?"  Also there are tons of fan-made things to be started.  Once
again, check out www.starmen.net  they thrive on fan things. Perhaps, if you
could find a willing pixel artist, and a few other people willing to help, I
could start a small team to make a small Animorphs fan game.  I've been looking
for something to program in C++... Thank you for your time to read this all...."

-- REVIEW OF ANIMORPHS #49 THE DIVERSION
"AH!! FABOULAS!! CAN I SAY IT IS POSSIBLY ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS YET???!! Oh,
yeah, and did I mention it was good? It didn't start with a battle, for a
change. I'm sure most of you have read the preview with the blood thing, and
that was REALLY interesting, how it all happened. I didn't even supect the
change of events that took place, and thought the thing with Jake was suprising,
in the way Tobias states it in the end. I forgot all about the whole ****** ****
******'* **** (sorry, confidential infomation my computer won't let me type it
in) thing. It suprised me SO MUCH! YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!"

-- TRAINS NOT DIVERTED IN #49
Some of you may recall a couple of months ago a post on MORPHZ that said #49
would deal with the subway and some train rerouting to the Yeerk pool.  Well, if
you've read #49, you know that doesn't happen.  Jeff of MZ says that this plot
WILL appear in the near future, just not in book #49.  :)

Really, I think that's all the news for this week.  It's been rather slow
lately.

Reana asked me to post this in AWN this week:
"Attention Harry Potter fans! I’m starting a newsletter for all the fans out
there. If you would be interesting in joing, or recieve a preview of the
newsletter, e-mail me, Reana, at drjdbn@hotmail.com for more infomation. Thanks
and I hope to hear from you soon!"
It sounds great!  I know I'll be signing up right away.
