AWN FORUM
&&&&&&&&&
Last week's forum question was:  CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR
ANIMORPHS #49!!!  How could Cassie's parents, Rachel's family, and
Loren have reacted better when being snatched away from their homes
by the Animorphs?
"I think they could have tried to believe that their kids were not
crazy. That always helps!"
-- Carly
"I really enjoyed book #49, it was very good, but the way the
Animorph's parents reacted to the fact that their kids had been
fighting in an universal war for more than two years seemed very
unrealistic to me.  It's hard to explain, but they didn't ask as many
questions as real people would (may) have (well, maybe they did ask
alot of questions.  The author probally just left it
out...anyway...).  Another point I noticed was the fact that Loren
didn't seem as greatful for Tobias and the Animorphs as I thought she
should (or could) have been.  She seemed very happy, but not as
greatful as I expected."
-- Tyler
I personally thought the reactions seemed like the ghostwriter
thought too hard about them and so they ended up sounding fake.  If
the reactions had just been written as naturally as the questions
came into the author's mind, it would have sounded more realistic.  I
would have expected the parents to want to hear the story more than
once...  Like when Cassie told her parents and they were like, "Oh,
I'm so sorry, it must have been horrible."  I would have thought
they'd say something along the lines of, "Hold on...what did you
say?  Aliens?!"  Anyway, those are my thoughts.
***This week's forum question is:  If you could change one thing
about the entire Animorphs series, what would it be?

Last week's poll question was:  CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR
ANIMORPHS #49!!!  Do you think that the capture of Jake's family
foreshadows that he will be the one to die?
Yes:	80%
No:	20%
***This week's poll question is:  Is it likely that we humans might
one day invent a technology similar to morphing?  Even if it's 1000
years from now?

-- REVIEW OF ANIMORPHS #49 THE DIVERSION
Guillermo sent me his review for #49.  I must say that I
completely agree with what he says!  Here it is:
"Can I just say this is an awesome book? Awesome, amazing,
extraordinary, these words can't say how good this book is. But this
phrase can, #49 The Diversion is now my all-time favorite Animorphs
book, the BEST book since #1 The Invasion. I loved it so much, it's
an AMAZING book. The writing is first rate, Lisa Harkrader did an
awesome job in writing this book, her best work ever. The emotion of
a mother and her child is portrayed so well, I almost cried. But what
HAPPENS in the book is even more amazing, the characters, the
planning, never would I imagine reading the words I read in #49, it's
totally amazing. This book is a landmark, a turning point. It was
organized extremely well, never got confusing and never, never ever
got boring. I can't tell you how much I loved this book! Another
thing I loved about #49, was that a few quotes made me laugh, and no
other Animorphs book has made me laugh. #49 had EVERYTHING, humour,
emotion, action, intrigue, suspense. Just so amazing, an amazing
book! My grade is more than an A+."
-- TITLE OF ANIMORPHS #54 RELEASED
Thanks to MZ boarder TAS (and B. Dalton bookstore), we now know
the title to the very last regular Animorphs book (I say "regular"
because there's still the Animorphs Bible to come after that).  I
predicted many weeks ago that this should be the title, and despite
evreybody who thought "The End" would be appropriate, well,
apparently Scholastic decided to spare us one last pun like that...
Anyway, for those who are dying to know, the title of Animorphs #54
will be.............  "The Beginning"
-- DAVID B. MATTINGLY SUBMITS PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN ARTWORK FOR ANIMORPHS
BIBLE
As you all know, there will be an Animorphs "Bible" released
around September of this year.  It will contain K.A.'s conceptual
work, sketches, behind the scenes stuff, etc.  In the "Ask David"
column at Monster's Animorphs Site (MAS, http://www.animorphs.org ),
David B. Mattingly wrote "I submitted some material for the Animorphs
bible to Scholastic,
including some unseen sketches and a rejected cover version, but I
have no advance word about what will be in it."  Perhaps we'll get to
see what this rejected cover is and decide if we like it better than
what was actually used!  I'm really looking forward to this book...
(I'm leaving the following headlines in AWN this week just because
they're rather important and I felt like they need more than one week
of publicity.)
-- BIOGRAPHY OF K.A. APPLEGATE IN THE WORKS
MORPHZ has reported that an unofficial biography of K.A. Applegate
is in the planning stages and will probably be released this
September.  K.A. will be among other honored authors such as J.K.
Rowling (Harry Potter), Dr. Seuss, and Roald Dahl (James and the
Giant Peach, The BFG).  You can see the Amazon.com listing for the
book at: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1584150793 .
-- COVERS OF TWO NEW HARRY POTTER BOOKS RELEASED
The covers of two new small paperbacks written by J.K. Rowling
have been released.  "Quidditch Through the Ages" and "Fantastic
Beasts and Where to Find Them" will hit bookstore shelves in
February, 2001, and all profits will go to benefit a charity named
Comic Relief.  The images are here:

(Quidditch), and

(Fantastic Beasts), and

books together)
-- PRODUCTION IMAGE FROM HARRY POTTER MOVIE RELEASED
The first image of Daniel Radcliffe in the role of Harry Potter
has been released!  It shows Harry in his Gryffindor robes, his arm
outstretched with Hedwig perched on it...it's a really great picture,
and I think it captures Harry very well!  You can catch a glimpse of
the pic by clicking this link:
