                         ISSUE #132
           WEEK OF FEBRUARY 4, 2001

                   <HI EVERYONE!>
Guillermo is back! Yes he is! I wanna thank Nothlit for filling in
for me through December and January! Bear with me, I'm trying to
learn how to work Yahoo! Groups, it's nifty though, thanks Nothlit! I
might not be able to send AW next week, but for February and beyond,
I will be here! Who caught Survivor this week? And what about that
explosive half-time show for the Super Bowl?! WOW! Yey, I had no
school for this past entire week cause I finished my exams early, no
homework or tests!! But I do have to return on Tuesday. Well now,
read on....

 AW FORUM
&&&&&&&&&
Last week's forum: If you could change one thing about the entire
Animorphs series, what would it be?

"I wish that there were more Tobias and Ax books"
- Reana

"I would have had them tell their families a long time ago. There is
strength in numbers."
- Carly

"The one thing of the series I would change would be the realistic-
ness of fighting an intergalactic war. I would have more casualites,
more attacks, more ... reality. While I realize that, yes, this is
science fiction and yes there are aliens in it, logic doesn't exactly
become a priority. However, I feel it would still somehow have made a
slight difference over the past four years. The ending is getting
better - of course it has to right, if it's the end of the series? ;)
But maybe it's also getting better because more of the <i>war<i> is
being made out the way it would in reality: The Maceavellie ( so I
suck with big names) Rule of Life."
- Elfy

"If I could change anything in the series, I would make animorphs
longer."
- Mike

This week's forum question is: Was the event that happened in #50 the
right thing to do? Why ir why not?

 AW POLL
%%%%%%%
Last week's poll question was: Is it likely that we humans might one
day invent a technology similar to morphing? Even if it's 1,000 years
from now?

Sure          6
No way     8

This week's poll question is: If the 6 Animorph members (Jake, Rachel
Cassie etc, including Ax) were on Survivor, who would be the first to
be voted off?

Send in your poll responses to aw_newsletter@hotmail.com with "poll"
as the subject, or respond online http://awn.ani-news.com

-- OFFICIAL SITE UPDATES
The Scholastic Animorphs site has updated with the usual #51 cover
and sample chapter, here's the summary:

The Yeerks have taken over units of the National Guard with plans to
infest all of its officers and soldiers. The plan seems to be to step
things up-use the Guard to prepare for an all-out war on Earth. The
Animorphs couldn't be less prepared. They're living with the free
Hork-Bajir colony, Jake is depressed, and worst of all, the morphing
cube is in the hands of the enemy.
Marco and the others know they need to take serious action to stop
the Yeerk infiltration of the Guard. They decide to approach the
governor-but they don't know if she's a controller or not. If she is,
they're walking right into enemy hands. If she's not, the Animorphs
are finally going public with their secret. And no one knows which
situation is worse...

And here's the link to see the cover:

And the sample chapter, that mentions Melissa Chapman:

There are also some un-official summaries for #53 and 54, but I'm not
going to post them here just because I don't the last books spoiled,
and I don't think you want them spoiled either. Surprise is so much
better.

-- WILL ANIMORPHS BE THE KIDS CHOICE THIS YEAR?
For the third time in a row, Animorphs has once again been nominated
for the Best Book Series award in the 14th Annual Nickelodeon's Kids
Choice Awards. This is the last time Animorphs will be able to be
nominated and win since the series is ending this year, so keep your
fingers crossed. Animorphs is up against "Bud, Not Buddy", "Chicken
Soup Series", and "Harry Potter Series". Voting starts February 12
and the show will air on April 21.

-- LAST EVERWORLD BOOK COVER & SUMMARY RELEASED
Everworld #12 Entertain the End, the last in the series of Everworld,
will be coming out in April and thanks to Morphz and Rebecca191 we
have the cover of the book. Check it out here:
http://www.morphz.com/posts/ew12big.jpg

Also, BN.com has posted the official mini-summary!: Finally, the
answers to all the mysteries, start to fall into place in the last
volume of K.A. Applegate's best-selling young adult series. David,
April, Christopher, and Jalil will now learn the truth.

-- ACCORDING TO K.A. UPDATED
Although it's not a good update, the According to K.A. section of the
Animorphs site was updated. Nothing new is brought up and K.A. goes a
bit overboard on the wackyness, you can read it here:
http://www.scholastic.com/animorphs/accord.htm

-- INTERESTING EVERWORLD NOTE
A fan maintains the Official Everworld site? It's true, if you're at
the main page and you scoll down to the bottom of the page, you'll
see: "This site was co-developed by cobragirl - former Everworld
ringmaster and current fan and avid reader."

Is Animorphs next? Maybe not, but who knows?
