The Animorphs series began back in June of 1996. Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Marco, and Tobias, a group of everyday teenagers, were walking home from the mall when someone...no wait...something changed their lives, and the worlds, forever.

Prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul, an alien called an Andalite, crashed landed in the middle of an abandoned construction site. He told them of a race of parasectic aliens called the Yeerks. The Yeerks were having a silent invasion of earth, and taking over it's population without anyone knowing. They crawl into your ear, and take over your mind. They control you, and you can't do anything about it. The kids were Earth's only chance of survival.

Elfangor gave them a unique power. The power to change into any animal they touch. To morph into any animal. But they needed to fight the Yeerks with this power to save man-kind. Elfangor also warned them of not staying in morph for more than two hours, or you will be trapped as that animal.

Another Andalite who was controled by a Yeerk, named Visser Three, followed Elfangor down to earth and killed him. Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Marco and Tobias vowed to help fight the invasion, and help remember Prince Elfangor.

Tobias was trapped as a hawk after an incident in the Yeerk Pool, the Yeerk feeding grounds, and the kids met up with Elfangor's younger brother, Aximili (Ax). They have faught the Yeerks for years, and are waiting the return of the Andalite fleet. Until then, the Aniorphs will continuing fighting to save our planet.
