Rage

This poem is really directed toward what Rachel feels like.

It hits with a sudden wave,
and you can't stop it.
It seizes control of you,
takes over your body.
You attempt to stop yourself,
but you're pushed to the back of your mind.
You're left, helpless,
unable to do a thing.
You watch as if through different eyes,
as you silently cry out for the wicked things you do.
You're out of control,
laughing at those who plead for mercy.
It's always seeing fresh prey,
another victim soon to fall in front of you.
When it's work is done,
it leaves.
Just as it came in a Blaze of Glory,
it's gone before you realize.
You regain control over yourself,
afraid for what's happened to you.
You tremble after the battle,
knowing it's soon to return.
You're almost depended on it now,
it's what keeps you brave and strong.
But maybe someday,
it won't ever leave.
