The Dark Side
Sometimes when I’m fast asleep,
Still the blood soaks red and deep.
And still I feel the bones that break,
The blinding pain my powers make.
And still I see the dying man,
Fall at my feet; have I done what I can?
And still I hear my desperate cry
When I ask myself, "Who am I?"
Damage done beyond repair,
Creatures screaming in despair.
And when I go to rest my hide,
In my mind, they’re by my side.
When’s the battle going to end?
How many rules am I allowed to be
And if I do, will I become,
Nothing but a bothersome?
Creatures in their different form,
Striking battle like a storm,
And still the blood soaks red and warm,
I’m fast asleep still, in my dorm.
