We ran, not knowing what was behind us. The sounds of our footsteps slapping loudly on the ground were in our ears. Our deap, fearful breathes huffed as we ran.
The ship was just yards ahead, yet we had no time. The Hork-Bajir, Taxxons, and all sorts of other grimful aliens geared after us. This was our only escape.
"Ax, can you pilot that thing?" I stammered out. It was a Yeerk vessel, and our only escape.
"Hurry, Jake! Their right behind us!" Cassie warned, as she ran by myside. Marco, Rachel, and Ax were running full spead along beside us, huffing and puffing.
<I believe so, Prince Jake. But, we are running out of time.>
"Yeah, I know. Move it everyone! Now!" I ordered.
Tobias flew overhead. It was dark, and hard for him to see. It was hard for us, too. Just feet away, the ship glowed as if it was ready to take us to safety. I silently prayed no one was on that ship. If there was, our lives were gone.
We ran through the door, and Ax ran to a computer council. <I can pilot this, Prince Jake. We need to leave now, though,> Ax informed.
"Yeah, go! Now!" I felt a jerk as the door woshed close, and we begin to rise. Slowly, we rose into the air and out of the atmosphere.
"We did it! We're home-free," Rachel shouted. Her face smiled brightly. We all laughed in relief. Ax stood at the council, his fingers moving quickly over the panel of buttons. Tobias peerched on a chair of some sort. Marco sat on the ground, and Cassie snuggled close to me. We were safe. For now...
<Prince Jake, we have a problem...> Ax said, as a jerk knocked me off my feet. Violent shaking and bright lights hit the ship. I ran to the window. There, following our ship, were hundreds of alien ships, ready to kill.
"Ax! Shoot!" This is when the real battle began...
